Community Action Grants

Twice a year, the Whitewater Community Foundation offers Community Action Grants for projects that our community and board of directors believe worthwhile and beneficial to various segments of the population. Grant proposals are due on April 30th and October 31st of each year. Decisions for funding will be made by the board of directors by end of the following month. Action Grant recipients are eligible to apply for another grant on an annual basis, upon evidence of successful completion of the previous grant.

The Foundation also offers fiscal sponsorship to organizations that are seeking 501(c)(3) status or require temporary pass through funds for worthy community projects.

Our Story

Whitewater, Wisconsin is a small town that sits in the lap of the Kettle Moraine Forest, a small town that's just close enough to Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago that our residents can enjoy the culture of the big city and small town life: historic Main Street and Victorian neighborhoods, a thriving art scene, music by the lake, Native American burial mounds and pancake breakfasts. We are pleased to partner with the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, which is known for its sports and accessibility for students from all walks of life.

The Whitewater Community Foundation is proud to have spent over two decades providing scholarships for college-bound high school students. In recent years, we have expanded our vision to create Community Action Grants to add to the treasures of the community: arts, environment, and recreational opportunities. We are also planning to create scholarships for non-traditional students and other community members who would like to make career changes.

Stay tuned as we grow! And, send us your feedback if you would like to contribute ideas and donations to the Whitewater community.
